What is Alloy C276 or Hastelloy C276?
Hastelloy C276 is a NiCrFeMoCu superalloy providing better chemical corrosion resistance than other nickel and iron based superalloys. It gives high level of corrosion resistance to oxidizing acids like nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acids. It prevents the production of grain boundary precipitates in the weld heated zone, therefore it is fit for use in the welded conditions.
Alloy C276 or Hastelloy C276 exhibits special properties such as below:
- Excellent resistance to pitting and corrosion
- High mechanical properties
- Excellent resistance to oxidising atmospheres up to 1040°C
- Very high resistance to many aggressive chemicals
